While I commend continuing efforts to bring down rice prices, such efforts should be more comprehensive to include prices of other farm commodities such as vegetables that form part of Filipinos’ daily staples.

A coordinated approach involving the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Bureau of Customs, and other law enforcement agencies is necessary to address supply chain inefficiencies and intensify efforts to combat the smuggling and hoarding of agricultural products.

The government must also provide ample support to farmers to boost production, lower costs, and increase the supply of agricultural goods. Matutugunan natin ang mataas na presyo ng bilihin para sa kapakanan ng ating mga mamimili kung may sapat na ani at produksyon ang ating mga magsasaka.
