“The President’s issuance of an EO suspending the excise taxes on LPG and kerosene is a welcome and timely intervention that will help ease the burden of soaring fuel prices on consumers.

This targeted relief can provide immediate assistance to low-income and vulnerable households, who spend a significant portion of their income on basic energy needs. While the suspension will reduce government revenue, providing relief to families amid high fuel prices is a reasonable policy trade-off.

Para masigurong mapapakinabangan nang husto ang EO, dapat tiyakin ng gobyerno ang mahigpit na pagbabantay sa presyo ng LPG at kerosene sa merkado.

Umaasa akong susunod na rin ang pagsuspinde ng excise tax sa diesel at gasolina para maibsan naman ang epekto ng mataas na presyo ng langis sa transport sector at sa presyo ng mga bilihin.”
