“Lubos akong nalulungkot sa pagpanaw ni Teacher Agnes Buenaflor ng Pedro E. Diaz High School. Based on reports, she felt dizzy during a classroom observation, lost consciousness, and hit her head on the floor, resulting in her death.

In light of this tragedy, I urge the Department of Education and the school to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the teacher’s collapse and death, including whether workload or working conditions contributed to the incident. I also call for a review of evaluation policies to ensure they are professional, humane, and do not place teachers’ health at risk.

I remain committed to pursuing measures such as the Revised Magna Carta for Public School Teachers to improve teachers’ welfare and working conditions.”
