As he files another set of priority bills for the 20th Congress, Senator Win Gatchalian highlighted measures aimed at advancing the welfare of teachers in the country, whom he calls the backbone of every student’s success.
Determined to uplift the teaching profession, Gatchalian continues to advocate for the Teacher Salary Increase Act, which proposes a P20,000 monthly salary hike for every public school teacher nationwide.
He also refiled the Revised Magna Carta for Public School Teachers, which seeks to amend the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers (Republic Act No. 4670). The proposed measure aims to ensure the protection of public school teachers’ rights and welfare.
Last week, Gatchalian filed a bill proposing amendments to the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994, aiming to strengthen professional standards and expand the pool of qualified teachers.
