Matagal nang umiiral ang RA 12312 o ang Anti-POGO Act of 2025, na nilagdaan pa noong October 23, 2025, gayundin ang Executive Order na nagbabawal sa POGO operations. The implementing rules could have been issued earlier to enable more timely and effective enforcement.

From the very beginning, we have consistently sounded the alarm on the dangers posed by POGOs: their links to organized crime, exploitation, and serious threats to national security. Sa kabila nito, patuloy silang nagtatago sa iba’t ibang anyo at lugar upang makaiwas sa batas.

I now hope that these SOPs will help provide the government with clearer and more coordinated tools to finish what we started. There is no longer a viable justification for the continued existence of POGOs and scam hubs in the country.
