The Knights of Columbus in Valenzuela City has appointed a new set of officers in a formal ceremony in Maysan last Saturday with the help of an award-winning public servant.
Valenzuela City Congressman Win Gatchalian inducted the new members of Knights of Columbus Council No. 10550 during the group’s 24th induction of officers at the multi-purpose hall in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish last July 27.
The Knight of Columbus originated in New Haven, Connecticut, USA on March 29 1882, in honor of the Catholic navigator, Christopher Columbus. It is known to be the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization in the world.
The organization, which established its first council in the Philippines in Intramuros, Manila in 1905, currently has over 1.8 million members with 15,000 councils all over the world.
