Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) Congressman Win Gatchalian today congratulated Vice President Jejomar Binay for again topping the presidential race in a nationwide survey conducted by the Laylo Research Strategies last year.

Based on the survey, Binay will be the runaway winner in five-, four-, and two-way fight scenarios in the 2016 presidential race. The vice president also recorded the best vote commitment, with 66 percent of his voters saying they will no longer change their minds.
“The Laylo survey only shows that VP Binay has a strong support base and no amount of black propaganda can change the minds of his believers at this point in time,” Gatchalian emphasized.

Gatchalian said the Laylo survey further showed the vice president’s hold on his supporters, particularly from Classes D and E, continue to solidify despite the continuous media attacks.
“The fact that 66 percent of VP Binay’s supporters will no longer change their mind point to a very strong mass base that will help deliver the crucial votes come election day,” said Gatchalian, who represents Valenzuela City’s 1st Congressional District.

The survey, commissioned by concerned big businessmen, also showed Senator Grace Poe taking an early lead in the 2016 vice presidential race. However, she is facing a tough fight in Mindanao, where she and Senator Francis Escudero are virtually tied.
