Senator Win Gatchalian expressed confidence that the Philippines will regain investor trust despite recent corruption controversies shaking market sentiment.

“Hindi naman hopeless ang sitwasyon. We just need to bring back confidence and that starts with accountability,” Gatchalian stressed, emphasizing that swift and decisive action against corruption is key to restoring economic stability.

He acknowledged that ongoing corruption issues have affected the country’s image abroad, citing that foreign investors prioritize political and economic stability when deciding where to place their money. “Basta magkaroon ng ganitong usapan, apektado kaagad ang foreign investments,” he noted.

That is why the Senate Finance Committee chairperson is committed to ensuring that the 2026 national budget is clean, transparent, and efficient, in line with the marching orders of the Senate President.

“The only way to rebuild trust is to show that the government can act with integrity and speed. Ang pinakamahalaga ngayon ay may makulong, may managot, at mabilis.  We can win back confidence if we prove that corruption has consequences,” Gatchalian said.
