“As author of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program Act, I welcome reports showing the program’s positive impact on learners’ reading proficiency. The Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) has likewise recognized that ARAL has significantly improved the reading proficiency and grade-level readiness of grade school students. For its implementation, ₱8.96 billion has been allocated to deploy 440,000 tutors and support 6.7 million learners. We must ensure that these resources are used efficiently to further maximize the program’s gains.
