“Nakakalungkot ang balitang tinamaan na naman ng malakas na lindol ang Bogo City at mga karatig na lugar sa Cebu, na dumanas na rin ng malakas na lindol noong nakaraang taon.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), together with local government units in affected areas, should immediately assess the situation and address urgent concerns. As the Senate Finance Committee chair, we have appropriated P23.492 billion for the country’s national disaster risk reduction and management program under the 2026 GAA. Along with that is P15.330 billion for disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction assistance.

This incident underscores the need to strengthen disaster preparedness at all levels. Kasabay nito, pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na manatiling mapagmatyag, sundin ang mga itinakdang safety procedures, at aktibong makilahok sa mga regular na earthquake drills upang maiwasan ang panganib sa buhay.”
