Senator Win Gatchalian said the enactment of the E-Governance Act, which mandates digitalization of government processes, is expected to revolutionize the delivery of public service.
The new law, which institutionalizes a secure digital system that would streamline government processes, would enable citizens to access government services anytime, anywhere, Gatchalian said. This would particularly benefit those residing in remote areas and citizens with physical disabilities.
The law will enhance efficiency in the delivery of public services, as it would eliminate the need for physical travel and manual processing.
Gatchalian, the chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, emphasized that the law would help minimize corruption, ensuring that projects are undertaken openly.
